Brochure Created by Cunningham Group
Named Finalist for National ADDY Award

MONTGOMERY, Ala.--A brochure prepared by Cunningham Group has been named a finalist in the industry’s top creative competition, the national ADDY Awards sponsored by the American Advertising Federation. The agency produced the brochure for the Alabama Department of Archives and History to help raise funds for the new Museum of Alabama History, which will be housed in a new wing of the current facility in downtown Montgomery.
The dynamic, colorful piece bearing the theme, "excitement in the wing," was created by Al Becker, senior art director, and Langley Tolbert, copy director at the agency.
"It’s a thrill to have won at the local level and then regionally, and now, for the first time, to have a piece going on to the national ADDYs alongside the top work from Madison Avenue and the rest of the country," said Bill Cunningham, agency president and account executive for the Alabama Archives account.
Cunningham Group, founded in 1974, is among the oldest advertising firms in Montgomery and works with a variety of clients throughout Alabama and the southeast.
To qualify for the national ADDY judging, the Archives’ brochure won out over heavy competition in the color brochure category of the Deep South district, which represents the advertising industry in Alabama, Georgia, Mississippi, Tennessee and parts of Louisiana.
The national winners will be announced June 7 at a gala in Los Angeles. These will be the best of the best for 2002 from what began as some 53,000 entries in over 190 cities around the country.
